"It works really well. It's easy. It's accurate and fast. I especially like the dual fluorescence and being able to focus on the green and red cells."

"It's very convenient to use and very accurate. Especially in the transfection procedures, it's very helpful. Overall, we're very pleased."

"We purchased the Nexcelom Auto2000 when it came out and it was fantastic for working with whole blood samples and enumerating lymphocytes. Vita[Scientific] started selling the [LUNA-FL] some point after that and I was able to demo it. The Luna is a far better value and has a better design for users. The focusing knob on the side has a much more natural feel and it doesn't lag to the degree of the Auto2000. The software is much more user friendly. The slides are in foil and are easy to open, while the Nexcelom slides are immensely frustrating to peal the plastic off of. The killer for the Auto2000 is that the unit doesn't "sleep" and the screen dies ever 18 months or so. I am waiting for our Auto2000 to die...again (would be the third time) and then will purchase this counter."

"Extremely easy to use [LUNA-FL]. Reproducible counts. Relatively fast (~30 s per sample using fluorescence). Relatively inexpensive. Slides are fool-proof and so far we have not needed the fancy "fluorescence-grade" slides (standard have been working fine for us). We mostly use the LUNA-FL -- very, very rarely with the Trypan blue, as Trypan blue works or not depending on your cells (good for tumor cells, not that useful for primary endothelial cells that generate many vesicles/debris)."

"Our lab recently purchased the LUNA-FL and it has been just terrific. We comparison shopped and found that the LUNA-FL was by far the best deal around. It generates accurate cell counts, counting far more cells to obtain results than is feasible using a hemocytometer, and takes up very little bench space. A principle concern for us what to ensure that we were not counting RBC when obtaining cell counts from various mouse tissues. Use of the LUNA-FL with the AO/PI dye accomplishes this quite well. We also find that the "standard" grade slides work perfectly well for our purposes. All in all -- we are very happy with this counter and definitely recommend it for others looking for a relatively inexpensive, small and high quality automatic cell counter. "
